Graduates who complete the programme of study have acquired the learning outcomes specified in Resolution No. 162/XII/2014 adopted by the Senate of the Jagiellonian University on 17th December 2014 on the establishment at the Faculty of International and Political Studies of the Jagiellonian University full-time first cycle and second cycle programmes of study of general academic profile within the field of study ‘Eurasian Studies’, as of 2015/2016 academic year, and the introduction of learning outcomes for this field of study. Graduates hold the following qualifications as regards knowledge, skills, and social competences: KNOWLEDGE - an advanced knowledge of the character, place and significance of Social Sciences and Humanities, their subjective and methodological specificity - an advanced knowledge of a human and society as entities of social structures and institutions with reference to selected areas of its activity ¬- an advanced knowledge of methodology of Social Sciences, as well as its relations to methodology of Humanities, which enables interdisciplinary analyses - an advanced and multidimensional knowledge of terminology and research issues of Humanities and Social Sciences - a basic knowledge of legal systems and regulations of the Eurasian area countries - an advanced knowledge of cultures of contemporary Eurasian world - an advanced knowledge of economic development and conditions for business operation in the Eurasian area countries - knowledge and comprehension of basic notions and rules of industrial property protection and copyright law, with reference to international law. SKILLS - advanced ability to search for, critically assess, analyse and use information acquired from various sources, as well as communicate in modern media systems - advanced linguistic skills which enable pursuing second cycle programme within Social Sciences and Humanities within the scope of the English language, in accordance with requirements defined for the level B2+ of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, as well as basic communication skills as regards the Russian language - ability to comprehend, critically assess, as well as analyse political, social and economic phenomena in the national and regional perspective - advanced research skills which involve formulating and categorisation of a problem, selection of research methods and instruments, processing and presentation of results which enable solving real problems of the Eurasian region - ability to forecast social, economic, political (national and international), as well as demographic processes and phenomena in the Eurasian area - ability to present critical arguments with the appliance of the acquired knowledge, as well as his/her own and other authors’ views, ability to present conclusions and synthetic summaries - ability to design, prepare, as well as communicate both in Polish and in a foreign language studies and projects regarding the Eurasian region, with the possibility of their practical appliance. SOCIAL COMPETENCES - omprehension of the need of life-long learning, ability to inspire, as well as organise educational process of other people - ability to correctly define priorities which enable performance of a task specified by himself/herself or others - ability to responsibly recognize, value, as well as undertake social roles in various fields of personal and professional activity in the national and international perspective -ability to participate in preparation of national and international social projects, taking into consideration legal, economic and political aspects of the Eurasian area -ability to independently as well as critically supplement knowledge concerning the Eurasian area and skills necessary in contacts with this area.
