Graduates who complete the programme of study have acquired the learning outcomes specified in Resolution No. 1/I/2014 adopted by the Senate of the Jagiellonian University on 29 January 2014 on the introduction of learning outcomes for particular fields of study conducted at the Jagiellonian University as of the 2014/2015 academic year, with later amendments. Graduates hold the following qualifications as regards knowledge, skills, and social competences: KNOWLEDGE an advanced knowledge of terminology regarding Humanities and Social Sciences, as well as advanced knowledge of the character and significance of Humanities and Social Sciences, and their subjective and methodological specificity a well-ordered knowledge of various cultural areas, their specificity and processes characteristic of them regarding political, economic, religious and linguistic spheres a well-ordered knowledge of social communication processes, particularly intercultural communication an advanced knowledge of transformation processes in selected social structures and institutions in the context of intercultural relations, as well as regularities which govern those transformations knowledge as well as comprehension of advanced methods of analysis, interpretation and comparison of works and processes characteristic of various cultures a well-ordered knowledge of norms and values in social institutions which operate in various cultural areas, as well as rules of copyright law and intellectual property protection a specialist knowledge of intercultural relations SKILLS with the appliance of various sources ability to search for, analyse, assess, as well as select information concerning intercultural relations and various cultures research skills which enable preparing as well as performing a research process regarding selected cultures or intercultural relations with the appliance of bibliography in both a native language and a foreign language, and applying more than one research method; ability to develop conclusions, prepare and present outcomes ability to interpret, as well as explain social and cultural phenomena, and mutual relations between processes which take place in various cultures ability to communicate precisely and coherently both orally and in writing, as well as with the appliance of multimedia techniques within the scope of contemporary intercultural relations ma umiejętności językowe w zakresie nauk społecznych i humanistycznych, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem studiów nad relacjami międzykulturowymi, zgodne z wymaganiami określonymi dla poziomu B2+ Europejskiego Systemu Opisu Kształcenia Językowego linguistic skills regarding Social Sciences and Humanities, particularly concerning studies on intercultural relations, in accordance with the level B2+ of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages ability to acquire specialist skills regarding intercultural relations SOCIAL COMPETENCES comprehension of the need of a life-long learning, as well as ability to properly define priorities of his/her own actions ability to cooperate and work in a group, acting in various roles ability to notice as well as present moral issues and ethical dilemmas related to his/her own or other’s work, a graduate searches for optimal solutions, acts in accordance with rules of ethics awareness of the level of his/her knowledge and skills, comprehension of the nee of constant professional and personal development, a graduate performs a self-assessment of his/her competences, as well as develops skills, a graduate presents an advanced ability to define his/her development and education directions ability to responsibly prepare to his/her work, ability to prepare and perform actions comprehending the need of constant education as well as monitoring labour market, environment, etc. a systematic participation in a cultural life, interest in current cultural events both in Poland and other countries ability to assess usefulness of typical methods, procedures and good practices in performing tasks within intercultural sphere ability to apply ethical rules and norms in pursued activity, ability to identify, as well as analyse ethical dilemmas; ability to predict results of specified actions a graduate acquires specialists skills characteristic of intercultural relations studies
