Graduates who complete the programme of study have acquired the learning outcomes specified in Resolution No. 34/III/2012 adopted by the Senate of the Jagiellonian University on 28th March 2012 on the introduction of learning outcomes for particular fields of study conducted at the Jagiellonian University as of the 2012/2013 academic year, with later amendments. Graduates hold the following qualifications as regards knowledge, skills, and social competences: KNOWLEDGE - Knowledge of the place of a human in a social life, in the light of historical as well as contemporary approach - Knowledge of a society functioning as well as basic structures and institutions of a social life - A basic knowledge of the origin as well as development of migration processes and ethnic processes in the course of the history till nowadays - Knowledge of basic social, political, economic as well as legal institutions - A basic knowledge of political systems, social and political organisations, as well as contemporary social, political and cultural processes - A basic knowledge of methods and instruments of acquiring data useful in analysing migration processes as well as ethnicity - Knowledge of basic theories explaining social, economic, political, cultural and legal transformations, particularly taking into consideration theories which concern migration processes as well as ethnicity transformations - Knowledge of concepts of social structures and institutions, as well as types of social bonds and their historical evolution, particularly taking into consideration influence on processes of horizontal and vertical social mobility - Knowledge of mechanisms ruling migration processes, ethnic processes and racial processes, as well as their consequences - Knowledge of the role and significance of media and cultural institutions in contemporary societies - A theoretical knowledge of rules of intellectual property protection law SKILLS - Ability to notice processes of social transformations, as well as their influence on the course of migration processes and ethnicity transformations - Ability to perform a proper analysis of social and cultural behaviours in the context of migration processes and ethnicity transformations - Ability to apply a theoretical knowledge in order to analyse political, legal, economic and cultural processes conditioning the course of migration processes and ethnicity transformations - Ability to study, explain as well as forecast the role of social, political and economic structures in contemporary processes of horizontal and vertical social mobility and ethnicity transformations - Ability to apply a theoretical knowledge which concerns major social norms conditioning migration processes and ethnicity transformations - Ability to gather as well as present in both written and oral form, in Polish and in a foreign language, knowledge of mechanisms of social mobility and ethnicity transformations - Ability to apply research methods and instruments in order to analyse migration processes and ethnicity - Ability to analyse migrations as well as ethnicity in the context of political, legal, economic and cultural phenomena - Ability to notice both reasons as well as consequences of migration processes, ethnic processes and racial processes in a contemporary world - Comprehension of mechanisms of forming as well as functioning multicultural societies, particularly taking into consideration immigrant societies - Ability to forecast social phenomena resulting from increased migration, as well as ethnicity transformations - Linguistic skills concerning a foreign language on the level B2, in accordance with requirements defined by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages SOCIAL COMPETENCES - Awareness of the role he/she should play in a social life by implementing a basic knowledge and skills - A graduate is prepared to work in social institutions which deal with practical consequences of migration processes as well as ethnicity issues - A graduate is prepared to undertake second-cycle programme of study, as well as participate in conferences and other scientific events - A graduate is prepared to active participation in a public life, as well as pursuing important tasks in major social groups or organisations which carry out social, political and civic goals, including missions for refugees and actions aiming at solving ethnic conflicts - Awareness of his/her knowledge and skills, as well as applying them in a public life, including a professional activity - Social sensitivity to issues concerning ethnic and racial diversities, as well as any form of discrimination - Ability to prepare social projects in cooperation with other people in order to acquire highest efficiency and work quality
