Graduates who complete the programme of study have acquired the learning outcomes specified in Resolution No. 34/III/2012 adopted by the Senate of the Jagiellonian University on 28th March 2012 on the introduction of learning outcomes for particular fields of study conducted at the Jagiellonian University as of the 2012/2013 academic year, with later amendments. Graduates hold the following qualifications as regards knowledge, skills, and social competences: KNOWLEDGE - a basic knowledge of the significance of philology in the system of Humanities as well as its subjective and methodological specificity - a basic and well-ordered knowledge of notions and terminology applied in sub-disciplines of philology - a well-ordered general knowledge of the language and literature of the specialization; awareness of the complex character of language, its complexity and historical variability - a well-ordered general knowledge of the language and literature of the specialization; awareness of the complex character of language, its complexity and historical variability - a well-ordered general knowledge of the language and literature of the specialization; awareness of the complex character of language, its complexity and historical variability - knowledge as well as comprehension of basic methods of analysis and interpretation of culture texts - knowledge and comprehension of basic notions and principles of intellectual property protection as well as copyright law - a basic knowledge of institutions of culture and basic orientation in contemporary cultural life, related to the completed specialization of studies SKILLS - linguistic skills, adequate to the first-cycle programme of studies, concerning practical as well as theoretical knowledge of languages of a specialization; for the A group of languages – linguistic skills concerning a language of specialization specified for the level C1 in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages - linguistic skills concerning an additional language specified for the level B2 in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages - ability to prepare in Polish (for the A/ and B group of languages and/or in a language of a specialization) typical written studies of general character, concerning various areas of life and culture - ability to prepare as well as give a speech on his/her own in Polish (for A/ and B group of languages and/or in the language of a specialization) concerning a selected topic, applying a related literature - ability to translate and interpret properly a text of a general character in a language of a specialization - ability to search for, analyse, assess, select as well as use information, applying various Polish and foreign-language sources - ability to acquire knowledge as well as develop research skills, related to a specialization, on his/her own, applying guidelines of a tutor - under supervision of a tutor a graduate presents ability to define and analyse research problems concerning philology as well as select methods and instruments which allow solving such problems; ability to present a study concerning those issues - ability to recognize various types of culture texts as well as analyse and interpret them applying basic methods, in order to determine their significance, place in the historical and cultural process as well as social influence - ability to present arguments, applying views of other author, as well as defining conclusions - ability to communicate and discus topics concerning scientific areas related to the completed field of studies, applying various communication techniques SOCIAL COMPETENCES - comprehension of the need of development of the acquired skills and knowledge - ability to cooperate and work in a group of people, acting in various roles - ability to determine priorities in performing a specified task - comprehension of the need of observance of the rules of professional ethics as well as acting in accordance with these rules - awareness of the value of cultural heritage in its diversity, awareness of the responsibility for its preservation - participation in a cultural life, applying various media, and participating in its various forms
