Graduates who complete the programme of study have acquired the learning outcomes specified in Resolution No. 161/XII/2014 adopted by the Senate of the Jagiellonian University on 17 December 2014 on the organizing at Faculty of Biology and Earth Sciences, Jagiellonian University, the second level (master) full study of the academic profile, in "e-spatial management" specialisation, since the 2015/16 academic year, and introducing defined education effects for this study. Graduates hold the following qualifications as regards knowledge, skills, and social competences: KNOWLEDGE - an advanced knowledge within the scope of functioning and shaping natural environment in various spatial scales, as well as in the context of sustainable development - an advanced knowledge within the scope of social and economic functioning of towns and regions, as well as shaping basis of their development - an advanced knowledge of relations between natural environment and human’s life and activity in various spatial and time scales - knowledge of theoretical concepts of economic evolution, concepts and methods of local and regional development management - knowledge concerning revitalisation, knowledge of European models of revitalisation, as well as comprehension of possibilities and limitations of their application in Poland - knowledge of legislation, rules and procedures which constitute system of spatial planning in Poland - knowledge of methods of geographical (spatial) data acquisition, including methods which are based on modern technologies, which are applied in order to assess the condition of spatial management, as well as the level of social and economic development, which allow - predicting changes, as well as shaping human living space - a basic knowledge of modelling, analysis and visualisation of geographical data which are applied in order to assess spatial management, as well as the level of social and economic development, predict changes and shape human living space; knowledge of technologies of storing and sharing geographical data, particularly the infrastructure of spatial information - comprehension of the position of land management on the borderline of geographical sciences, economic sciences, engineering sciences, as well as its relations with other sciences - an advanced knowledge of methodological basis of both natural and social empirical sciences; knowledge of essential stages of a research process, as well as comprehension of the significance of academic research for social and economic development - knowledge of terms and notions characteristic of scientific areas which discuss issues related to land management, both in Polish and in English - orientation in basic issues of labour market; comprehension of its social and cultural conditions - an advanced specialist knowledge within the scope of selected by himself/herself issues concerning land management SKILLS - ability to use a specialist terminology regarding land management, both in Polish and in English - ability to search for, as well as select information in academic literature, also in English; ability to critically assess sources of information, including scientific information - ability to choose, as well as apply proper methods of data acquisition, analysis and visualisation (including spatial data) in order to solve questions related to assessment of the condition of spatial management, as well as the level of social and economic development, to changes prediction and shaping human living space - ability to prepare studies, as well as projects useful in the process of spatial planning, including planning documents - ability to effectively organise his/her own work, also in the form of e-learning - awareness of the specificity of distance learning; comprehension of chances as well as threats which are posed by distance learning in the process of education, also after graduation - ability to use various on-line data bases, including data gathered by the state institutions and administration (e-government, e-urząd), as well as statistical units (Central Statistical Office of Poland) - ability to prepare a project proposal - ability to prepare an academic study on a given issue (oral presentation, poster, report, a final thesis) which is methodologically correct (presentation of the aim of the study, its scope, as well as research methodology, results description and conclusions presentation), and meets both formal and edition related requirements - quite fluent communication in English; ability to present in English issues related to the field of study or academic interests expressing his/her own views in a quite coherent and logic manner; ability to read and understand quite fluently (because of quite rich vocabulary) studies and reports (language knowledge level B2+). SOCIAL COMPETENCES - awareness of the need of acquiring both professional and personal competences, as well as improving knowledge on his/her own - comprehension of the role of academic research in the area of natural and social sciences, as well as modern techniques in space management - a critical approach to receiving information of various sources - a graduate is responsible for the entrusted equipment, safety of his/her as well as others’ work (particularly in the field) - ability to work in a team, critically assess his/her own role in a group, as well as define priorities which lead to performance of a given task - comprehension of the need of independent planning of his/her own professional or academic career; a graduate is entrepreneurial - awareness of the need of acting in accordance with rules of ethics and observance of copyrights, also within e-learning - comprehension of the value of natural environment, as well as cultural heritage; awareness of responsibility for their protection - awareness of the role of land management in the modern world, as well as his/her own competences within that scope
